What You Can Expect : As a Senior Software Developer at ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA), you will be a key member of a fast-paced and innovative trading technology team. You will work directly with our Head Trader and collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to design, build, and optimize systems that support real-time trading strategies and analytics. This role is ideal for a highly motivated and detail-oriented developer with a passion for clean, efficient code and a deep curiosity about energy markets and trading. You will play a hands-on role in building tools that drive operational efficiency, automate key workflows, and improve the performance of ENGIE’s trading platform.
Reporting to the Head of Operational Technology, your roles and responsibilities include:
Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable trading software used by the trading team Collaborate with the Head Trader to enhance and monitor trading strategy back tests and live performance Partner with cross-functional teams to support integration across the forecasting and trading platform Identify inefficiencies in the trading workflow and implement automation solutions Provide operational support for critical systems, ensuring reliability and performance Write and review software design documents and conduct code reviews to uphold engineering standards
What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of seven (7) years of professional software development experience Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience developing scalable, production-grade applications Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred) Familiarity with database technologies and data modeling principles Strong critical thinking and ability to understand complex systems Team-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills Exceptional attention to detail and proactive problem-solving
Additional Details Hybrid work policy in Houston, TX; Chicago, IL; and Broomfield, CO Travel domestically up to 10% with some overnight trips Compliance with ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation Salary Range: $113,900 – $174,570 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual salary offered may vary based on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, ESPP, PTO, retirement plan with company match, and family-oriented benefits.
