This role sits in the Data Operations team, which focuses on building capabilities and best practices for usable data across the company. Responsibilities
Build and manage robust data pipelines that support scalable and efficient operations across various data platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into sustainable technical solutions for data usage and integration. Design, implement, and refine data models and database schemas to support business functionalities and operations. Assist in migrations to modern data platforms (e.g., Trino with Iceberg table format) and improve data flow, architecture, reliability, and quality. Continuously optimize data models and pipelines; contribute to infrastructure migrations and improvements in CI processes and Airflow orchestrations. Develop reusable classes, components, and modular scripts to automate and enhance daily tasks and stakeholder-facing workflows. Qualifications
BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. At least 3 years of experience in data warehousing, with large-scale data architecture design, implementation, and maintenance. Proficient in advanced SQL and familiar with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) or similar platforms. Experience in financial services and/or SaaS industries and understanding of industry-specific data requirements and compliance issues is a plus. Technical Experience We’d Love to See
Python: scripting for data manipulation and integration, with object-oriented programming. SQL, dbt, and Data Modeling: advanced SQL techniques, dbt for transformations, and strong data modeling practices (normalization and denormalization). ETL/ELT: designing, building, and optimizing batch and streaming data pipelines. Version Control: experience with GitHub/GitLab, including branching strategies. Data Visualization: familiarity with Tableau or similar tools. Collaboration and Documentation: strong communication and documentation skills. DevOps Practices: basic knowledge of unit testing, CI/CD, and repository management. Technologies: familiarity with Docker and AWS. Prompt Engineering for LLMs: experience crafting prompts for LLMs is a plus. Visa Sponsorship : This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future. The estimated salary range for the San Jose-based role is $142,300–$170,800 USD.
