Designer
to join our team. This is an opportunity to work with an award-winning home remodeling and design firm serving Northern Virginia for 40 years, focusing on creating functional and aesthetically pleasing kitchen spaces by collaborating with clients, developing designs, and managing projects from concept to completion. What you will do: Client Consultation:
Meeting with clients to understand their vision, needs, and budget for their kitchen space. Design Development:
Creating detailed kitchen designs, including layouts, color schemes, material selections, and appliance specifications. Material Selection:
Assisting clients in choosing appropriate materials like countertops, flooring, cabinetry, and fixtures. Project Management:
Overseeing the entire kitchen design and renovation process, coordinating with contractors, plumbers, electricians, and other tradespeople. Creating and reviewing cabinet orders. Tracking and ordering selections according to schedule. Cost Estimation:
Developing accurate project cost estimates, including materials, labor, and any other associated expenses. Presentation and Communication:
Effectively communicating design concepts, plans, and project updates to clients and team members. Quality Control:
Ensuring that the final kitchen design meets client expectations and adheres to safety regulations and building codes. Working concurrently on multiple projects at various stages of completion. What you bring: Design Software Proficiency:
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or 2020 Design is crucial. Knowledge of Design Principles:
Strong understanding of spatial dynamics, color coordination, ergonomics, and kitchen functionality. Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and other team members. Attention to Detail:
Meticulous attention to detail is essential for creating accurate plans and overseeing the project. Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to address and resolve any design or construction issues that may arise. Project Management Skills:
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and stay within budget. Knowledge of Building Codes and Safety Regulations:
Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations related to kitchen design and construction.
