As the Assistant Vice President of Tax Overlay, you will play a pivotal role in executing LPL’s strategic vision for a World-Class Investment Platform. This role focuses on delivering enterprise-wide initiatives, including the national rollout of the LPL Tax Overlay Program and the growth and scalability of the MWP Platform. You will lead multiple concurrent initiatives within this program, ensuring delivery of key milestones related to the Centrally Managed Platform. Success requires strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and disciplined execution, partnering across business units to meet enterprise priorities. You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment, manage risks, and uphold the integrity and scalability of program objectives. The position demands executional rigor, strategic thinking, and deep platform knowledge. Success will be measured by the seamless implementation of tax overlay services, stakeholder satisfaction, and new process implementation and scalability. Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Execution: Lead and manage cross-functional workstreams to deliver on Tax Overlay and Centrally Managed Platform initiatives; drive enterprise alignment on roadmap goals, timelines, and prioritization strategies; ensure timely execution of deliverables through collaboration with cross-functional partners; lead the dynamic team in delivering world-class service from the Tax Overlay program. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Alignment: Collaborate across the firm to maintain alignment on vision and strategy; build and maintain strong relationships with enterprise stakeholders, advisors, and advisory consulting teams; partner with business leaders to prioritize enhancements and support backlog grooming and prioritization; influence partners to ensure technical and operational requirements reflect user needs; anticipate roadblocks and proactively resolve them; engage stakeholders to shape a seamless advisor and client experience across platforms. Change Management & Communication: Drive organizational change initiatives, including communication strategies and training programs for new processes; develop and present executive-level updates to communicate progress, challenges, and key metrics; prepare and deliver data-driven presentations for executive decision-making. Process Optimization & Risk Management: Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities to increase scalability and efficiency; monitor risks, gaps, and operational dependencies, partnering with product and compliance teams to resolve issues; develop and implement staff training and ensure processes are documented and reviewed regularly in alignment with LPL Compliance Requirements. Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required. Series 7 and 66 (or 63/65 equivalent) or obtain within 90 days of hire. 5+ years in investment-management program leadership, advisory platforms, or overlay-strategy implementations. Deep expertise in unified managed accounts, portfolio accounting systems, and trading operations. Proven track record of driving enterprise initiatives with executive-level impact. Exceptional storytelling, presentation and influencing skills; comfortable engaging C-suite and advisor audiences. Strong analytical mindset; advanced Excel (pivot tables, VBA/macros), PowerPoint, and data-visualization proficiency. Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and deliver against tight deadlines. Working knowledge of Modern Portfolio Theory, multi-factor risk models, and tax-optimization algorithms. Core Competencies

Familiarity with LPL’s Advisory Account framework and technology ecosystem. CFA/CFP designation or progress toward completion. Experience leading Tax Overlay or Direct Index Tax solutions focusing on scaling tax-aware rebalancing and overlay workflows. Pay Range
$127,600-$212,600/year. Actual base salary varies based on factors including relevant skill, prior experience, education, internal equity, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
