Overview
Senior Engineering Geologist — AECOM, Orange, California AECOM is seeking a Senior Engineering Geologist to support Geo-Civil projects from the Orange, CA office. This role involves client engagement, project leadership, and collaboration with geotechnical and structural engineers to deliver dam-related projects and other civil infrastructure work. Responsibilities
Maintain long-term relationships with clients in civil infrastructure and mining by providing technical expertise, attending client and project meetings, managing client expectations, and supporting business development pursuits. Plan, budget, and execute surface and subsurface geologic and geotechnical exploration and manage staff required to execute investigations. Lead team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery; collaborate with geotechnical and structural engineers to develop robust dam designs. Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and schedules. Perform geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for identification of geologic hazards and site characterization. Provide support on the design and installation of groundwater wells and geotechnical instrumentation (VWP’s, inclinometers, transducers, etc.). Interpret site conditions including geologic, geochemical, and geophysical data; develop geologic models for complex site conditions. Review and apply regulatory guidelines and industry standards to conduct technical studies and support project design and permitting for dams. Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies (local, state, and federal) on behalf of clients. Support project pursuits and contribute to business development in California and the western United States. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to write clear technical reports and make high-quality presentations in-person or remotely. Mentor junior geologic staff to support their development and success. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements BSc in Geology, Engineering Geology, or Earth Science; 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent. California Professional Geologist (PG). Valid US driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications MSc in Geology, Engineering Geology, or Earth Science; 2 years of project management experience. California Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG). Additional Information
Regular project site travel may be required (up to 25%). No sponsorship is available for this opportunity. No relocation assistance available for this opportunity. Offered compensation will be based on location and qualifications. The expected range is USD 100,000.00 – USD 160,000.00 per year. About AECOM
