Paramus, NJ — Physiatrist / Physical Medicine & Rehab Physician
Overview BC/BE Physiatrist/PM&R Physician to join our Physiatry run team in Northern NJ. Physicians work in post-acute care settings providing consultation and follow-up care. The incoming Physiatrist will be covering acute care/SNFs in the Paramus area. We collaborate closely with patients, their families, rehab staff, physicians, and hospital system population health teams.
Job Responsibilities
New consultation requests. Perform appropriate physiatric consultations and follow-up care throughout the rehabilitation stay.
Round on post-acute care patients twice a week or more when medically necessary; track patient progress, remove obstacles to functional progress, and improve quality of life.
Attend to caseload by maintaining awareness of all referral sources and potential referral sources; maintain an active patient list and diligently capture all referrals.
Engage with clinical staff on a regular basis and maintain professional, collegial relationships with other facility physicians, caregivers, administrators, and directors.
Engage with patients and families during care; communicate clearly to promote understanding of treatment options and procedures; set expectations with facility, patients, and families.
Attend facility rehab team meetings.
Documentation: follow protocol and guidelines for documentation, billing, and coding.
Regularly meet with facility leadership to understand their needs and build relationships; report updates to the Director.
Actively collaborate with other treating physicians and Physician Assistants (PCPs, Orthopedists, etc.).
Requirements
Unrestricted NJ Medical License, CDS, DEA
Board Certified or Board Eligible in PM&R
Stay Current Annually with ABPMR and NJBME Licensing & Certification Requirements
Compensation
$250k-$300k, for full time with Bonus Potential, depending on caseload desired
