Overview

Seeking an additional interventional cardiologist due to increased patient need/demand. Full-time position Monday through Friday with 4.5 days of clinic time and 0.5-day administrative time per week (36 patient contact hours). Call: 1:3 STEMI Call and 1:6 Cardiology Call. General and interventional practice with consult service only; hospitalists handle admissions. The cardiology and oncology departments are affiliated with the Duke Health Network (DNH). Two cath labs at the hospital currently performing about 500 cases/year and on pace to perform about 720 procedures/year, not including procedures in pre- and post-areas. This does not include TEEs, cardioversions, tilt-table tests or loop recorders. We average close to 10 patients referred to open heart each month and 2-3 STEMIs per week. No cardiac thoracic surgery at the medical center. Full spectrum of cardiac imaging available, including TTE/TEE, SPECT MPI, and CCTA with a new 256-slice CT scanner with single-heart-beat image acquisition. Full spectrum of invasive/interventional procedures includes diagnostic right/left cardiac catheterization with PCI; pacemaker (conventional and leadless), ICD, CRT implantation. Full cardiac device clinic with dedicated technician. Dedicated peripheral lab with DSA, moving rapidly toward a busy peripheral program. Provide general and interventional cardiology services in a hospital-based setting. Perform diagnostic right/left heart catheterizations with PCI as appropriate. Perform pacemaker implantation (conventional and leadless), ICD, and CRT implantation. Manage full cardiac device clinic with dedicated technician. Utilize a dedicated peripheral lab and participate in expanding peripheral interventional programs. Collaborate with hospitalists on patient admissions and with the oncology and other departments as needed. Facilities & Resources

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary (1–3 years of experience). RVU-based compensation and signing bonus paid after 30 days of employment. Paid Time Off: 22 days; CME Time Off: 5 days; CME stipend: $3,000/year.
