UCSF Division of Hospital Medicine Hematologic Malignancy, Bone Marrow Transplant, and Cellular Therapy (HBC) Hospitalist Position. The UCSF Division of Hospital Medicine at UCSF Health is seeking applicants for the hematologic malignancy, bone marrow transplant, and cellular therapy (HBC) hospitalist position. Our goal is to provide these new faculty members with clinical experiences that match their interests. Many faculty who are hired as HBC hospitalists ultimately transition to subspecialty fellowships while others remain on the faculty. Job details: HBC Hospitalist services are collaborative, involving the Division of Hospital Medicine and the Division of Hematology/Oncology. The service provides care to inpatients requiring bone marrow transplant or management of hematopoietic malignancies ("liquid tumors"). The service admits approximately 1200 patients per year. Created in July 2007, the HBC Service uses a hybrid model with hospitalists and oncology faculty. Hospitalists manage day-to-day care; oncology physicians provide oncologic expertise. The service is organized in teams with an oncologist, a hospitalist, and a nurse practitioner. The service is dedicated to high-quality, safe, equitable, and compassionate patient-centered care. The HBC Service uses a team model with nurses, pharmacists, and physicians working closely together to maximize patient-centered care. Please contact John Dzundza (John.Dzundza@ucsf.edu) or Madison Paddock (Madison.Paddock@ucsf.edu) with any questions.
