The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible for providing comprehensive health services to DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. The MLT performs lab tests and procedures, including microscopic, bacteriological, hematologic, immunologic, and chemical analyses on samples of tissue, blood, urine, stool, synovial fluid, and semen. The MLT evaluates results to determine the presence, absence, and progression of disease through accurate and efficient lab testing. Responsibilities

Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing. Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank. Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot technical issues. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment. Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Actively participate in Mass Casualty exercises and events. Complete required organizational compliance education, including client-specified requirements for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies. Basic Requirements/Certifications

Minimum of 3 years' recent experience as Medical Laboratory Technician, including 6 months within the last year. Certification as a medical laboratory technician through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT), the Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCALP), or the Board of Registry of the American Association of Bioanalysis (AAB). Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor are preferred. Education Required

Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology or related field. Physical Requirements

Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements. Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods. May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Other Special Qualifications

U.S. or Permanent Residency Card is required. Valid U.S. Passport with at least 18 months before expiration date; must maintain a current passport during stay in Iraq. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically MRPT. Applicants with current clearances are preferred. Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project. Must be able to read, write, and speak English effectively. Additional Information

Compensation: Min: $55,000 Max: $70,000 The pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. The final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
