Overview
Plant General Manager - Hazardous Waste (Kent, WA) – on site. Under the general guidance of the Regional Plant Director, this role leads a team to drive operational strategies that align with the company’s culture and long-term goals, aiming to exceed customer expectations. The location must meet or exceed environmental health and safety, regulatory compliance, production, and waste management goals within their region. Base pay range $120.00/yr - $140.00/yr Location : Kent, WA – on site Responsibilities
Provide direct oversight to an assigned plant and ensure compliance with clients policy and applicable local, state, and federal regulations for waste streams. Coach and develop managers and supervisors in planning, organizing, leading, coaching, feedback, and performance appraisals in alignment with company goals and safety and regulatory requirements. Make recommendations and/or approvals on salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and dismissals within the plant. Support recruitment and hiring of plant employees as needed. Lead regular communications with teams on current issues, procedures, operational changes, and new developments in the department and company. Oversee selection, training, and development of an effective, diverse workforce within the plant. Provide technical support to managers and staff; assist in developing and deploying training related to plant operations. Promote Safety and Security initiatives across the plant; implement and train on safety protocols and regulatory compliance measures. Ensure daily operations comply with state, federal, and local regulatory requirements. Address hazards or unsafe conditions promptly and effectively. Manage Customer Experience by resolving issues with urgency to maintain high service levels and grow the business. Drive Operational Excellence by continually improving productivity standards and team member safety within budgetary goals. Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, waste processing, and inventory controls to ensure regulatory adherence and alignment with company goals. Maintain facilities and budgets to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards and company goals; generate and submit Capital Expense requests. Stay informed about updates to waste processing and treatment regulations and industry standards. Perform other related duties and/or project work as required or requested. Wear company-provided PPE when necessary and travel up to 20% of the time; collaborate with the Regional Plant Director and work hands-on to execute key initiatives. Qualifications
Must have experience managing people in a TSD facility for Hazardous Waste and 3-5 years of Haz Waste experience (not trash/recycling). Experience with P&L for their sites and strong leadership skills. Hazardous Waste experience is required. People manager skills – will have a few direct reports and many indirect Soft skills are critical Strong onboarding and safety performance expectations Seniority level
