About This Role:
In this pivotal position at Biogen, as Senior Director of U.S. Diagnostic Strategy and Commercialization, you will spearhead the development and execution of cutting-edge diagnostic strategies for Alzheimer's disease. You will guide the diagnostic approach encompassing blood-based biomarkers, imaging, and cognitive assessment tools, working across teams to ensure diagnostic innovation is integrated into our commercial, medical, and access strategies. This role contributes to improving patient outcomes by enabling timely and accurate detection of Alzheimer’s disease and shaping Biogen’s diagnostic landscape in the U.S.
What You’ll Do
Develop and implement a comprehensive U.S. diagnostic strategy aligned with Alzheimer’s disease portfolio goals.
Identify gaps and opportunities in the diagnostic landscape for Alzheimer’s, focusing on tools like blood-based biomarkers and imaging.
Shape strategies to advance early and precise diagnosis, supporting expanded patient population treatment.
Collaborate with Market Access and Payer Strategy teams to define coverage and reimbursement pathways for novel diagnostics.
Work with health economics and outcomes research to establish evidence for diagnostic utility and cost-effectiveness.
Drive external partnerships with diagnostic companies and labs to promote adoption and guideline inclusion.
Align diagnostic strategies with biomarker science and clinical trials through collaboration with Medical Affairs.
Integrate diagnostics into market execution with Marketing, Field Teams, and Alliance partners.
Partner with Regulatory and Policy teams to navigate diagnostic standards and regulatory requirements.
Represent Biogen in diagnostic forums and industry consortia to advocate for Alzheimer’s detection and diagnosis.
Build strong relationships with academic centers, diagnostic innovators, and patient advocacy organizations.

Required Skills
Advanced degree preferred (PhD, PharmD, MD, or MBA).
12+ years of experience in biotech, pharma, or diagnostics, with at least 5 years in neurology, neuroscience, or Alzheimer’s disease.
Strong understanding of the U.S. diagnostic ecosystem, including laboratory operations and reimbursement mechanisms.
Proven success in leading market-shaping or diagnostic adoption strategies in complex therapeutic areas.
Strategic thinking and analytical skills, comfortable working with epidemiology and clinical data.
Excellent collaboration and influencing skills across internal and external stakeholders.
Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication and executive presence.
Preferred Skills
Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills.
Experience leading collaborative initiatives with alliance partners.
History of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Additional Information The base compensation range for this role is: $230,000.00-$316,000.00
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
