Senior Associate, Database Engineer

— At BNY, we drive growth and success through cutting-edge AI and breakthrough technologies. We are a leading global financial services company facilitating a large portion of investible assets. This role supports the Wealth Service Platform team and is located in Jersey City, NJ. Responsibilities

Design and review of logical and physical data models based on data in existing systems and new business requirements Enhance the Canonical Data Model for the Platform Implement the data model enhancements Implement and manage views and stored procedures for data consumption and data persistence Provide tools and support for the data consumption services Ensure performance of the data models based on transactional and analytical use cases Ensure data quality within the data models and at the data interfaces Implement data validation and verification processes Collaborate with various development teams to provide an understanding of the data model and the data Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience; 2–6 years of software development experience; experience in securities or financial services is a plus; thorough knowledge of the software development life cycle Experience with data modeling, database design and development or related experience Prior experience managing a DB development team Experience modeling financial data and client/entitlement data Good knowledge of financial accounts, transactions and positions data Hands-on experience with any RDBMS, preferably MS SQL Server or Oracle Strong SQL knowledge Excellent communication skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Experience in financial services Experience with a data modeling tool (e.g., Erwin, DBArtisan) Good to have

Experience writing ANSI SQL code Experience with a scripting language, preferably Python Experience working with cloud-native databases Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred Experience in the securities or financial services industry BNY News and Awards

The base salary range for this position is $69,000 to $120,000 per year at the start of employment. Final compensation is determined on an individualized basis, considering experience and location, and may include discretionary bonuses, incentive programs, and other compensation components. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify compensation at any time.
