Title Assistant/Associate Professor, Division of Oral Radiology School Harvard School of Dental Medicine Department/Area Oral Radiology/Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity The Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) is an intellectually vibrant, collaborative, and global life sciences community. The goal of HSDM is to continue setting a standard of excellence in the provision of oral health care and defining the future of interdisciplinary dental education, clinical practice, and cutting-edge basic, clinical, and translational research. The department has a long tradition of integrating students at the predoctoral and postdoctoral levels into research laboratories and successful mentoring relationships. HSDM invites qualified applications for a full-time position in oral radiology. This appointment is expected to be at the assistant or associate professor level. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants should have a strong record and future promise in teaching, service, and scholarship. Located on the Longwood Medical campus in Boston, this position offers the opportunity to engage in high-level interdisciplinary collaboration with top institutions in the area. Responsibilities
Administrative leadership as the oral radiology discipline head, including supervision of the discipline across departments and support for student assessments to meet competency milestones in oral radiology. Provide oversight for program accreditation requirements and leadership and innovation in clinical radiology within HSDM and the radiology services at the HSDM faculty practice. Clinical supervision of dental students during radiology rotations and teaching of both dental students and residents at HSDM, including serving as a course director. Engage in scholarly activities and research, and mentor dental students and residents in their research projects. Collaborate across HSDM and affiliate institutions (e.g., Harvard Medical School, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital) on multidisciplinary research initiatives. Participate in an active Cone Beam CT imaging service and other advanced diagnostic imaging services as interests and availability permit, and engage in clinical practice intra- or extramurally as appropriate. Basic Qualifications
DDS or DMD degree or equivalent; completion of a postgraduate program in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Board-certified or board-eligible for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Demonstrated evidence of scholarly activity and advancement in the field of oral and maxillofacial radiology. Additional Qualifications
Experience in a leadership role within a clinical or academic setting and in working with a diverse pool of students. Record of research accomplishments; Masters and/or Doctoral degree in a field pertinent to Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Previous experience with or strong interest in applying artificial intelligence in imaging technologies and a desire to develop or enhance AI‑driven diagnostic tools and processes in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Salary Range The full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $130k – $260k, commensurate with rank, education, certification, and experience. References
