2+ years of experience with machine learning engineering in software engineering or data engineering roles Experience building AI-enabled features or prototypes using LLMs, embeddings, or 3rd party APIs, including OpenAI or Anthropic Experience with basic prompt engineering concepts and use of LLM SDKs or frameworks including LangChain or LlamaIndex Experience with Python Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP and their AI or ML services Experience with a vector database or search framework, including OpenSearch or Weaviate Experience developing backend services and building or consuming RESTful APIs Ability to follow code review practices, document work, and maintain clean and reusable code Ability to obtain a Secret clearance Bachelor’s degree Nice If You Have
Experience with AI-assisted development such as Cursor, Cline, Windsurf, or Claude Code Experience with AI agent frameworks, including LangChain or LlamaIndex Experience with open-source AI projects like Ollama or personal projects involving generative AI Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, or containerization tools like Docker Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or Engineering Clearance

The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
