Medical Director of Pediatric Echocardiography
to join the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital is ranked among the nation’s Best Children’s Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report 2024-25 in 11 specialties, including Pediatric Cardiology & Heart Surgery. The Congenital Heart Collaborative (TCHC) is a partnership between the heart centers at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital (Cleveland) and Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Columbus). Through this program, access to high-quality cardiac care is expanded and aligned with Rainbow’s scholarly and educational mission:

The successful candidate will join an outstanding team of board-certified pediatric cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons who model collaboration and dedication to patients and partners. Rainbow offers opportunities to represent and advance the division’s impact locally, nationally, and internationally. The Heart Center includes ten pediatric cardiologists with expertise in interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced imaging, fetal cardiology, adult-congenital heart disease, general pediatric cardiology, and congenital cardiovascular surgery. On the Rainbow campus, surgeries of all complexities are performed, including fetal cardiac interventions and complex pediatric electrophysiology and catheterization procedures in state-of-the-art suites. A strong and growing fetal program performs over 1,000 fetal echocardiograms annually and has launched a fetal intervention program with maternal-fetal medicine and TCHC colleagues. Rainbow’s advanced imaging capabilities include transthoracic, transesophageal, fetal, and 3D echocardiography, cardiac MRI and CTA, cardiac stress MRI, fetal cardiac MRI, and 3D modeling/printing. Position Overview
The successful candidate will oversee the full spectrum of echocardiographic services, including transthoracic, transesophageal, fetal, and 3D echocardiography. Responsibilities include program development, quality and safety oversight, protocol standardization, and fostering innovation in imaging techniques. The Director will collaborate closely with colleagues in fetal cardiology, cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology, and other subspecialties to ensure the highest standards of care. In addition, the Director will play a key role in education of trainees, mentorship of faculty, and engagement in scholarly and research activities. The rank and appointment will be commensurate with the candidate’s credentials and experience. TCHC is a dedicated service line with a common executive administration and functions as one program on two campuses with the goal of expanding access to high-quality comprehensive cardiac care along with a scholarly and educational mission. The position offers a very competitive salary and benefits package. Qualifications
MD, DO, or equivalent degree. Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology. Advanced fellowship training and significant experience in echocardiography (transthoracic, transesophageal, and fetal required; 3D and advanced techniques preferred). Demonstrated leadership experience in echocardiography, quality improvement, or program development strongly preferred. Expertise in echocardiography is required, with additional experience in advanced imaging modalities (cardiac MRI, cardiovascular CT) considered a plus.
