The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic Cardio-Oncologist to direct the Cardio-Oncology Section within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Position Overview
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks a board-certified/board-eligible cardio-oncologist at the associate professor or professor rank, with an extramurally funded clinical or translational research program to lead an elite team of academic physicians. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in clinical care and research initiatives, directing the Division\'s Cardio-Oncology Section with a focus on the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular toxicity of oncologic treatments, advancing preventative care, and managing cardiovascular complications from therapy. Responsibilities include expanding outpatient and inpatient consultative services in routine and complex cardio-oncology care in facilities at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital, the James Cancer Hospital, and the Solove Research Institute; advancing cardio-oncology research; and mentoring junior faculty and trainees. The Ohio State University Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is setting new standards for advanced heart and vascular care through internationally and nationally recognized experts across more than 60 cardiology and vascular medicine specialists. We offer patients access to innovative technologies, treatments, and clinical trials, with many programs led by principal investigators across basic, translational, and clinical research. The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine consists of over 60 cardiologists with focus areas including general cardiology, interventional, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, pulmonary vascular disease, women\'s cardiovascular disease, cardiac MRI/CT, and cardio-oncology. The division is affiliated with the Ross Heart Hospital, ranked as a top hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. The division supports multiple fellowship programs and serves over 12 Ohio and Kentucky counties. The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) integrates research with education and patient-centered care. OSUCCC – James is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, with phase I–III trials conducted in collaboration with the NCI. The James campus is 356 beds and widely recognized for excellence in cancer care and research. Faculty types include Clinical Faculty (medical doctors and clinical PhDs focused on clinical care, with terms of three to five years), Tenure-Track Faculty (research-focused with potential for tenure), and Research Faculty (research-focused with terms of one to five years).
