The Executive Director (part time) will lead all aspects of ADROIT’s STEM program operations, representing the organization to funders, partners, and the community; cultivating strategic relationships; driving fundraising and grant development; supporting board governance and strategic planning; and delivering hands-on STEM programming and mentorship to students. This role blends organizational leadership with direct educational impact to advance ADROIT’s mission of expanding access and equity in STEM. Scope of Services
Contractor agrees to perform the following services for Client during the term of this Agreement: Executive Director Services
Represent ADROIT to funders, partners, stakeholders, and the wider community as the primary spokesperson and champion of the organization. Cultivate and steward relationships with schools, community organizations, industry leaders, and higher education institutions to strengthen partnerships and opportunities for students. Drive fundraising strategy in collaboration with the Board, including cultivating donor relationships, preparing grant applications, and identifying diverse revenue opportunities. Ensure financial oversight by working with the board to develop budgets, monitor financial health, and ensure responsible stewardship of resources. Guide short- and long-term strategic planning processes to position ADROIT for sustainable growth and expanded impact. Measure, evaluate, and report on organizational performance, ensuring transparency and data-informed decision-making. Build public awareness of ADROIT’s mission through outreach, advocacy, and media engagement. Educator Services
Deliver engaging, hands-on STEM instruction through workshops, coaching sessions, and project-based learning. Mentor individual students by providing academic guidance, career exploration support, and encouragement for persistence in STEM. Facilitate collaborative student teams, teaching skills in leadership, communication, and problem-solving. Design or adapt learning modules, experiments, and challenges to meet diverse learning needs and align with ADROIT’s program goals. Oversee student participation in STEM competitions, offering technical guidance and moral support. Promote creativity and innovation by encouraging students to design and test their own solutions to real-world problems. Provide training, resources, and ongoing support for volunteers, peer mentors, and educators assisting with STEM programming. Incorporate inclusive teaching strategies that actively welcome underrepresented students in STEM fields. Track and report student learning outcomes and skill development to inform program improvements. Organize enrichment opportunities such as field trips, guest speaker sessions, laboratory visits, or industry tours. Foster a culture that values curiosity, resilience, and respect, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for learning. Keep current with advances in pedagogy and STEM innovations to bring fresh perspectives and practices into ADROIT programs. Act as a mentor-advocate for students, connecting them to scholarships, internships, and continuing STEM opportunities beyond ADROIT. Keep actively engaged with parents of students within the program, maintaining an active registry of contact information and regular communication updates. Deliverables
Contractor will provide during the contract term: Provide documentation of all program activities, including summaries of season events, workshops, and major milestones. Submit copies of all grant applications (submitted) for organizational recordkeeping. Prepare and maintain reporting that satisfies grantor reimbursement and compliance requirements. Compile an annual report for the program, highlighting student achievements, program outcomes, and organizational impact. Maintain an activity log or program journal that records key initiatives, partnerships, and student engagement throughout the year. Track and document participation, including volunteer hours, student attendance, and community engagement. Submit a post-season or end-of-year evaluation assessing successes, opportunities for growth, and recommendations for future improvements. Maintain organized records of all correspondence and communications with partners, funders, and stakeholders. Provide regular updates and requested data to the Board of Directors to support governance and strategic decision-making. Document and summarize all professional development undertaken by staff, educators, and volunteers that supports program excellence. Archive important program materials, including curriculum resources, promotional content, and outreach collateral, for institutional continuity. Document and report on community outreach activities, presentations, or public events that expand awareness and support for the organization. Maintain complete and accurate records of all financial transactions related to the program for audit and transparency purposes. Prepare and deliver materials for program accreditation, licensing, or recognition by external bodies if applicable. Submit periodic impact stories or testimonials from participants, families, or partners to support fundraising and communications. Qualifications
Proven leadership experience in nonprofit or education sectors, preferably in STEM-related initiatives Strong track record in fundraising, grant writing, and donor cultivation Excellent relationship-building skills with community partners, schools, and industry stakeholders Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, financial oversight, and organizational management Experience designing and delivering engaging, hands-on STEM instruction Ability to mentor and inspire students, particularly from underrepresented backgrounds in STEM Skilled in program evaluation, data tracking, and reporting for continuous improvement Effective communicator with public speaking, advocacy, and media engagement experience Commitment to equity, inclusion, and access in STEM education Knowledge of current STEM education trends, pedagogical practices, and innovation Capable of managing volunteers, peer mentors, and collaborative educational teams Strong organizational and documentation skills to meet grant, board, and compliance requirements Pay Range
The role is a part time contract position, with target pay of $24,000 per year.
