Behavioral Sleep Medicine Psychologist
— Casual 1-year position and subject to renewal.
The Medical Practice Foundation at Rady Children’s Hospital is expanding its programs as part of the Rady’s Mental and Behavioral Health Strategic Plan. We are seeking a dedicated psychologist with expertise in behavioral sleep medicine or emerging expertise to join our team. This position involves providing comprehensive care to children and adolescents with medically complex needs at the Center for Healthy Sleep at Rady Children’s Hospital. Responsibilities include:
Screening, assessment, and delivery of evidence-based interventions for sleep disorders, such as CBT-I, PAP adherence, and motivational interviewing, care for children with unique sleep disorders including narcolepsy and circadian disorders, sleep hygiene education, and parent training.
Close collaboration with pulmonologists and other professionals within the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine to ensure multidisciplinary care.
Active participation in the teaching and supervision of psychology and medical trainees.

Job Summary Pediatric Clinical Psychologist-Advanced Practice has training in select areas that enables them to provide specialized direct patient care in assigned locations. The psychologist follows Rady Children's integrated behavioral health models and guidelines, develops care plans, implements evidence-based therapies, and conducts testing as appropriate. The psychologist links children to community mental health resources and services and works in partnership with supervisors and leadership to coordinate and improve psychology services across Rady Children’s locations. The psychologist collaborates with operational leaders, physicians, and staff to advance behavioral health initiatives for pediatric populations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PHD or PSYD in clinical psychology or related field with specialization in pediatrics
1 year clinical experience
Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in California by the start date
Board certification in Behavioral Sleep Medicine (or willingness to pursue certification)
ADOS training and experience, PCIT certification, diagnostic testing 0-5 or APA-accredited internship and postdoctoral fellowship with specialization in pediatric psychology, sleep psychology, pain psychology, or related specialty
Successfully completes the required credentialing process for the department/area of practice
BLS for Health Providers (AHA) at minimum
Ability and experience working independently with critical thinking to achieve patient care and organizational priorities
Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of an APA-accredited internship with clinical child and adolescent psychology as a major area of study; sleep medicine experience
3 years post-licensure clinical experience
Bilingual English/Spanish
