Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician Job Type: Permanent Full-Time Location: Harrisburg, PA (UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital) Service Setting: Hospital Emergency Department Schedule: Flexible scheduling across day, evening, and night shifts Start Date: October 2025 PATIENT POPULATION & SCOPE
Patient Demographics: Approximately 85% adults and 15% pediatrics Average Daily Volume / Census: High-volume emergency department across three hospital sites Admissions & Rounding: Included as part of emergency stabilization and transfer process Consults & Follow-Ups: Yes Case Mix/Clinical Focus Areas: General emergency medicine, acute medical and surgical cases, trauma transfers FACILITY & TEAM DETAILS
EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup: Multi-disciplinary support with transfer access to higher-level care facilities Support Staff: Collaborative physician and Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team model Leadership & Reporting Structure: Reports to Emergency Department Medical Director Reason for Opening: Provider turnover and expansion within the UPMC system CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE
Board Requirements: ABEM Board Certification required (Board Eligible candidates considered) DEA & Certifications: Active DEA, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60 days COMPENSATION & PERMANENT BENEFITS

Board Status: ABEM Certified or Eligible State License Required: Pennsylvania license or eligibility to obtain Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Experience: Minimum of 3 years in emergency medicine preferred Additional Requirements: Proficiency in emergency procedures and teamwork in high-acuity settings DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered emergency care Provide clinical expertise for both adult and pediatric patients Perform emergency procedures, including acute stabilization and trauma interventions Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary care team and APPs Maintain timely and accurate documentation within Epic EMR Participate in department quality and performance initiatives COMMUNITY & LOCATION HIGHLIGHTS
