JOB SUMMARY The Senior Estimator leads technical estimations of electrical projects from bid preparation through job close out documentation to the customer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A working knowledge of electrical construction and theory at a level normally acquired through completion of an electrical training program or related field experience; and
Five years’ experience in electrical estimating.
Experience with calculations and Accubid entry for indirect costs, general conditions, subcontractor, and vendor quotations.
Experience in full preconstruction efforts.
Design build experience including layout of devices meeting code requirements and incorporation of narrative into one line and other electrical drawing format for estimate and delivery to general contractors.
Experience estimating projects $30 million and larger without assistance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Leadership experience in a field environment.
Experience in the construction industry.

Ability to maintain confidentiality
Demonstrated conceptual estimates and financial analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Ability to provide guidance to estimators and delegate work as needed on large scale projects
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete estimates for all projects, small to large, through all phases of the estimating process.
Subcontractor coordination.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and general contractors, ensuring continuous awareness of upcoming opportunities.
Takeoffs and data entry.
Estimate projects complete with designated margins. Work to make your estimates easily usable for cost to complete and phasing.
Prepare and update post-bid files showing competition and competitive price levels and square foot pricing man-hours for future use.
Attend company meetings with updates of prospective projects or status of projects in-house. Attend monthly estimator meetings for information. Volunteer innovative ideas and systems to make overall company coordination smoother, more enjoyable, and more profitable.
Work with the project controls team to solidify company procedures and processes in our continued pursuit of excellence.
Represent OEG in meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and general contractors for preconstruction guiding team through cost reviews.
Manage budget through the preconstruction process in a joint effort with the Project Manager.
Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
Due to the need for unescorted access to security sensitive business locations and/or systems, must submit to periodic background checks.
May be required to submit to periodic background checks if position requires access to security sensitive business locations and/or systems.
Requires travel: Minimal (up to 10%)
