Dermatology Technician

at varying levels (I, II, III). The selected candidate will be placed at the appropriate level based on qualifications and experience. All levels contribute to patient care under the supervision of licensed medical professionals, with increasing responsibilities at higher levels. Responsibilities

Dermatology Technician I

– provides supportive patient care functions for Dermatology and other assigned clinical areas, under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational, and professional standards. The Technician performs knowledge and scribing of medical terminology to assist in documentation during Dermatology office visits and/or procedures. This position may scribe for physicians (history, physical, patient instructions, pending orders). The technician may also be asked to administer injectables and/or other high-level skills: perform phototherapy treatment/excimer laser treatment, set-up/assist with procedures, maintain sterile field, assist with cosmetic procedures, remove sutures, provide IPLEDGE/isotretinoin education, registration in iPledge, apply patch testing for allergic contact dermatitis, sterilize instruments, and manage pathology log to ensure results are received and communicated to patients/treatments performed. Dermatology Technician II

– includes all duties of Dermatology Technician I. Dermatology Technician III

– includes all duties of Dermatology Technician I/II. Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant OR 1+ years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with NO Certification/Registration BLS through American Heart Association Basic Medical/Nursing terminology Computer experience Proven ability to use equipment and related supplies for the selected patient population Preferred Qualifications

For Dermatology Technician II: 5+ years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with Certification/Registration OR 6+ years with no Certification/Registration For Dermatology Technician III: 8+ years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with Certification/Registration OR 9+ years with no Certification/Registration Pay is based on several factors including local labor markets, education, and work experience. In addition to salary, benefits include a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (eligibility applies). The hourly pay range is $16.00 to $24.23 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
