Job Description Abington Hospital – Jefferson Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Division Chief of Vascular Surgery
to lead our growing division. This leadership role will support the Department Chair by overseeing the clinical, academic, and administrative activities within the division, ensuring the delivery of high-quality vascular care across the continuum.
Ideal Candidate
Board-certified in Vascular Surgery
Proven leadership and administrative experience in a hospital or academic setting
Strong clinical background with a commitment to quality improvement and multidisciplinary collaboration
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated success in team management and program development
Key Responsibilities
Provide oversight for all clinical and administrative functions within the Division of Vascular Surgery
Implement and maintain quality monitoring systems to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of patient care
Conduct ongoing assessment of provider performance and ensure compliance with credentialing and privileging standards (OPPE/FPPE)
Develop and recommend criteria for clinical privileges and evaluate all department members accordingly
Collaborate with academic partners and oversee academic responsibilities related to medical, dental, and podiatric education
Coordinate interdepartmental and intra-departmental services to ensure seamless patient care
Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures to support safe, high-quality care
Recommend and support acquisition of resources—including space, staffing, and equipment—to meet clinical demands
Advise senior leadership on new service lines and programs to expand vascular surgical services and patient volume
Supervise the vascular surgery team to ensure adequate coverage for both inpatient and outpatient care settings
Monitor patient access metrics, including office volumes and wait times, to improve patient experience and operational efficiency
Participate in Medical Staff meetings and represent the division in leadership forums
