In collaboration with the leadership of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, provide visionary and innovative leadership to lead the department into the next phase of growth and development. Ensure an atmosphere of respect, professional support, and development for all stakeholders. Support the goal of recognizing the value of all employees and contributing to a positive, collaborative culture that engenders a commitment to the organization's success. Ensure deliberate and priority-driven investment into research, educational and clinical activities for the department and institution. Advocate for women’s health and reproductive rights by promoting access to comprehensive healthcare services to ensure that all women receive necessary support and resources. Provide the vision and leadership to achieve superior clinical programs within Obstetrics & Gynecology and related disciplines; collaborate with other leaders to grow areas of clinical excellence. Define and lead the research strategy, support PIs and faculty in securing NIH and other grant funding, and invest in research activities and priorities to promote growth and future success. Ensure delivery of excellent clinical education and advanced training to medical students, residents, and fellows; provide leadership and oversight to residency and fellowship programs. Supervise, prepare, implement, and monitor the department budget, ensuring compliance with grant, legislative, and institutional guidelines. Desired Outcomes
Enhance the department’s national and international reputation. Develop clinical programs for strategic growth; foster interdisciplinary collaborations within CU and beyond. Retain departmental faculty and build a pipeline for junior faculty promotion. Grow extramural funding in basic science, translational and clinical research, AI/ML, and related programs. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Demonstrated experience in an academic leadership role with success in clinical, educational, and research program development. National reputation for academic excellence with a robust portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and measurable impact. Proven track record in recruiting and mentoring physicians and academic faculty. Experience developing and managing budgets and providing financial oversight of clinical programs. Preferred Qualifications
Leadership in women’s health with subspecialty expertise (e.g., maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology, minimally invasive surgery). Experience implementing evidence-based practices and advancing clinical innovations that improve outcomes. Experience leading strategic initiatives within an academic medical center, including program growth and cross-department collaboration. Interest in fostering belonging and addressing disparities in women’s health outcomes. Mentoring success across clinical, educational, and research domains. Experience working across health systems or integrated care models with collaboration across hospitals, clinics, and community partners. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
