We are seeking a
Facilities / Engineering Operations Manager
to support our partnership with
Greenwich Academy , a prestigious K-12 independent school in Greenwich, CT. This is a
high-visibility leadership role
overseeing second shift operations (approx. 2:00 pm-10:00 pm, Monday-Friday). The Facilities Operations Manager will partner closely with the Director of Facilities to ensure the school's historic campus is safe, welcoming, and maintained to the highest standards. This role requires strong
custodial operations leadership , hands-on experience with
mechanical systems and Building Automation Systems (BAS) , and a passion for creating an outstanding educational environment. Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and supervise the
second-shift custodial and skilled trades team , ensuring a safe, well-maintained campus. Act as second-in-command, providing leadership when the Facilities Director is away. Oversee
custodial operations, MEP maintenance, and preventive/predictive maintenance programs . Manage work orders, CMMS, payroll, scheduling, safety, and quality assurance. Troubleshoot and optimize
Building Automation Systems (Trane preferred) . Collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership to support events, seasonal operations, and long-term facilities planning. Build strong relationships across the campus community with responsive communication and service excellence. Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience). 3+ years of experience
in facilities management, plant operations, or engineering services. Proven leadership experience in
custodial operations, BAS, and MEP maintenance . Hands-on technical expertise with
mechanical systems and building automation . Demonstrated success managing a
comprehensive facilities program
in a school, university, or campus environment. Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills. Ability to lead during second-shift hours (2:00 pm-10:00 pm, Monday-Friday). Bilingual Spanish
