VP, Development
National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) seeks a bold and strategic Vice President, Development (VP) to lead our fundraising efforts during a time of exciting growth and impact. This leader will be charged with developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to significantly grow NCJW's philanthropic revenue with a goal of significantly increasing our fundraising in the coming years. The VP will manage and strengthen a high-performing team, partner closely with the CEO and Board, and activate an energized lay leadership to expand our base of support. Reporting to Chief Strategy Officer, Jody Rabhan, and serving as a key member of the senior leadership team, the VP will oversee all aspects of NCJW's fundraising program, including individual, foundation, corporate, and legacy giving. This role is for someone who brings big vision and bold goals and has the experience to deliver on them. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong track record of building relationships, managing teams, making six- and seven-figure asks, and fueling mission-driven work with the resources it deserves. Primary Responsibilities
Lead Fundraising
Serve as the organization's lead fundraiser, with direct responsibility for building relationships and securing funding from individual, institutional, and corporate donors.
Lead the strategy and execution for foundation giving, including identifying prospects, overseeing all proposal and reporting processes, and managing ongoing relationships.
Develop a cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategy for major donors, including six and seven-figure giving, to achieve annual major gifts goals.
Define a plan to strengthen relationships and develop productive contact with a personal portfolio of current and potential major donors to further their commitment to NCJW.
Design and maintain systems such as internal documents, trackers, and regular meetings to provide real-time visibility into fundraising progress and ensure the CEO and relevant staff are informed, aligned, and engaged.
Enhance cross-functional fundraising across NCJW departments, including partnering effectively with the Marketing and Communications team to share consistent messaging to all donors and stakeholders.
Leverage the diverse talents of NCJW professionals and the extensive philanthropic contacts of the Board of Directors and other key volunteers.
Foster a culture of stewardship and donor gratitude across the organization.
Oversee the Direct Response program and develop a comprehensive strategy for donor appeals and ensure that all solicitations incorporate consistent and compelling messaging.
Develop a strategy and implementation plan to support fundraising that spans local and national efforts.
Expand and enhance NCJW's planned giving program.
Team Leadership
Implement clear roles, responsibilities, and reporting structures for development team members to maintain a strong, high-performing organizational culture.
Set department goals and create and implement a departmental work plan and team calendar in coordination with other NCJW departments.
Serve as expert advisor to the CEO and senior management team, and mentor to all NCJW colleagues on fundraising matters.
Cultivate and promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, accountability, and empowerment.
Guide the department's leadership in fundraising for NCJW's national meetings and events, including overseeing fundraising events at in-person gatherings.
Board Relations
Serve as staff liaison to NCJW's Development Committee.
Train and prepare the Development Committee to support NCJW fundraising goals and set meetings with appropriate funding prospects.
Cultivate board members as donors and networkers, including setting individual commitments or fundraising strategies.
Key Qualifications
Strong commitment to and passion for the mission of NCJW and the ability to articulate the importance of the organization's work to prospective and current funders.
At least 8 years of increasing responsibility in development within a nonprofit environment.
Proven track record of increasing an organization's fundraising revenue.
Successful track record in soliciting major gifts from existing and new prospects; demonstrated ability to develop, foster, and sustain donor relationships.
Ability to rapidly transition from the highly innovative and strategic to the tactical.
Significant experience in securing funding from individuals, foundations, and / or corporations.
Ability to work successfully with individuals at all levels within the organization, including board members, donors, and local section leaders.
Strong communicator, oral and written; excellent presentation skills.
Effective and inspirational manager with experience managing teams of people to the successful completion of ambitious goals.
Strong organizational, time, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, short-term needs, and long-term planning.
Ability and willingness to travel.
Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and receptivity to feedback.

Salary and Benefits 175,000 - $200,000. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
