The Department of Emergency Medicine at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple is recruiting a full-time Academic Emergency Medicine or Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician. This employed position includes a faculty appointment at Baylor College of Medicine with protected time for teaching, a competitive salary, performance bonus, comprehensive benefits package, and no state income tax. Provide clinical care in the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple ED and the associated pediatric ED as part of an academic department. Participate in teaching and contribute to scholarly activity as part of a faculty appointment with protected time for teaching. Location & Department

Temple, Texas — central Texas, about one hour north of Austin. Academic department with an Emergency Medicine residency entering its 32nd year, consisting of 42 Emergency Medicine residents and 36 faculty across two Emergency Departments. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple is the main site with a 48-bed ED, Level 1 Trauma, Stroke Certified, Tertiary Referral Center with 640 inpatient beds, an 81-bed ICU, and an ED annual census of 80,000 visits. It was ranked #1 in Fortune Top Teaching Hospitals in 2023. Baylor Scott & White McLane Children\'s Medical Center is a 20-bed ED, Level II Trauma Center for children with a 35,000 annual visits, 24/7 in-house PICU support, and a pediatric clinic housing nearly 40 specialties adjacent to the hospital; this ED is staffed entirely by EM and PEM faculty supervising EM and pediatric residents. - Doctorate Degree in Medicine - Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board - Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine or Pediatric Emergency Medicine, or demonstration of active pursuit of board certification as defined by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists Five of our hospitals made Healthgrades America’s 250 Best Hospitals list, indicating they are in the top 5% in the nation for overall clinical excellence.
