The Radiology Technologist Diagnostic is responsible for administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. The role involves performing radiographic procedures, producing images for interpretation, and integrating scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction, and compassionate care. Key Responsibilities
Perform radiographic procedures and determine exposure factors. Assist licensed independent practitioners with fluoroscopic and interventional procedures. Ensure patient safety and apply ALARA principles to minimize exposure. Receive, relay, and document imaging orders and verify informed consent. Prepare patients and evaluate image quality. Manage emergency situations until appropriate personnel arrive. Provide patient education and oversee students and learners. Participate in quality assurance activities. Qualifications
Registry by ARRT (ARRT-R) and current BLS certification. Minimum one year of radiologic technologist experience; preferred experience in an academic medical center. Graduation from an accredited JRC Radiologic Technology program; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Additional Requirements
Independent performance of imaging exams. Adherence to regulatory standards and organizational policies. Shift rotations, including weekends and after-hours, may be required. Physical ability to lift 20-50 lbs and perform activities like standing, walking, climbing, and reaching. Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and multiple priorities.
