Job Summary and Qualifications
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Full-time, NIGHTS. High Risk / NICU Transport team.
A transport respiratory therapist (RRT) is a registered respiratory therapist whom upon completion of the transport orientation provides comprehensive respiratory care to critically ill or injured neonate and children. The transport respiratory therapist, through the use of expanded clinical skills, is responsible for accurate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in accordance with established protocols while on the transport and in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), or Emergency Department. The RRT is responsible for the stabilization and care of patients during transport under the direction of designated physician or accepting provider. The transport RT is also responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the hospital.
What qualifications you will need:
- Associate Degree in Respiratory
- RRT - NBRC and State Registered Respiratory Therapist
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- NRP - Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- STABLE - must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Completion of pediatric stabilization program
- Successful completion of Neonatal Pediatric Transport (C-NPT) certification within 1 year of hire
- NICU RT experience required
