CTG is seeking to fill an Epic Hospital Billing Claims Analyst opening for our client in California.

Duties:

Lead and oversee the configuration, maintenance, and support of Epic Hospital Billing (HB) Claims functionality, with a specialized focus on Behavioral Health and Ambulatory services.

Design, build, and maintain Epic HB Claims configuration, including claim edit rules, claim definition rules, remit processing, and electronic remittance workflows.

Configure and support claims logic and billing workflows that align with unique Behavioral Health and Ambulatory billing requirements.

Monitor and troubleshoot claim edits, rejections, and denials, working with coding, compliance, billing, and registration teams to optimize clean claim rates.

Analyze trends in denials and rejections, implementing system-based solutions to improve reimbursement accuracy and timeliness.

Develop and execute test plans for new builds, upgrades, and enhancements in the Epic HB module.

Support revenue cycle optimization by evaluating current workflows and implementing efficiency improvements.

Assist with validation and implementation of system upgrades, extensions, and third-party integrations affecting hospital billing and claims.

Serve as a key liaison between IT, Billing, Compliance, and clinical departments to ensure alignment across teams.

Participate in operational meetings, gathering requirements, providing updates, and offering subject matter expertise on hospital billing claims.

Provide training and support to end users and operational teams as needed.

Skills:

Expertise in Epic Hospital Billing (HB) and Claims functionality.

Strong understanding of Behavioral Health and Ambulatory billing regulations and workflows.

Experience with claim edits, 837/835 files, payer configurations, and electronic claim submission processes.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills across IT, clinical, and operational teams.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience working with Epic HB and Claims functionality.

Experience in multi-site or integrated health system environments preferred.

Familiarity with third-party billing systems, clearinghouses, or RCM platforms preferred.

Experience with Epic reporting tools such as Reporting Workbench or Clarity is a plus.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Information Technology, or related field, OR equivalent work experience.

Epic HB Certification required; additional certifications in Hospital Billing Claims, Hospital Billing Admin, or Charge Router preferred.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
