This role involves managing both acute and chronic cardiac conditions, coordinating multidisciplinary care, leading aspects of our NP team operations, and educating patients and families. The NP must hold active licensure in both Missouri and Illinois and be available for night, weekend, and holiday coverage.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Care • Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including detailed histories, physical exams, and risk evaluations. • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, and coronary artery disease. • Interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests including EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and laboratory results. • Provide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac interventions such as catheterizations and pacemaker implantations. • Educate patients and families on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence. Coordination & Communication • Coordinate care between cardiology, primary care, and specialty providers. • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and physicians. • Facilitate follow-up care, outpatient testing, and emergency department coordination. • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). • Conduct peer-to-peer communications with insurance companies to secure necessary authorizations and approvals for treatments and procedures. Leadership & Administrative Support • Manage NP scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage across services. • Oversee NP team PTO requests and time card management. • Conduct NP team performance evaluations in collaboration with leadership. • Act as NP team liaison with physicians and leaders at SLHV and HVP, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of goals. Hospital & Clinic Coverage • Provide rounding services at affiliated hospitals. • See clinic patients as needed. • Support medical research by conducting physical exams and reviewing patient histories for study participation. • Respond to patient-related calls from staff and offer clinical input.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN/DNP) from an accredited program. • Board-certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) with Adult-Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) credentials and cardiology experience. • Active NP licensure in both Missouri and Illinois. • Minimum of two years’ cardiology experience preferred. • Proficiency with EMR systems and strong computer skills. • Ability to travel between practice locations. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule & Environment

Full-time, on-site clinical role. Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform the full range of body motions. Regularly sit, stand, walk, and communicate in person and by phone. Use hands to operate standard office equipment; reach with arms; lift up to 25 pounds.
