Position Summary:
Amergis Healthcare (formerly Amergis Healthcare Staffing) is hiring Credentialed School Nurses to support student health and wellness across LA County for the 2025 - 2026 school year. The School Nurse is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care, managing student health plans, and collaborating with school personnel to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate student care
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs)
Monitor and document student health status and treatment outcomes
Coordinate care with school staff, families, physicians, and community health agencies
Participate in IEP meetings and student care conferences as needed
Provide health counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals to appropriate services
Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
Support health education and promote disease prevention
Ensure compliance with state laws, educational codes, and nursing standards
Adhere to Amergis Healthcare and school district policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements:
Valid School Nurse Services Credential (CTC)
Active RN license in California
CPR certification
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN, LVN, or LPN)
Minimum 1-2 years of school nursing or pediatric experience preferred
Proficiency in English and strong communication skills
Computer literacy and documentation skills
Must be at least 18 years of age
Completion of Amergis' Competency Program and new hire training
Compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
Current PPD or chest X-ray and health certificate (as required)
