Position Overview The Assistant Director of Finance supports the Director of Finance in overseeing the resort’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with Hyatt and Alila standards and values, GAAP, and regulatory requirements. This role provides leadership in managing day-to-day accounting functions, developing financial strategies, and supporting long-term planning. As the second-in-command of the Finance Department, the ADOF is responsible for maintaining strong internal controls, guiding the finance team, and fostering collaboration with operational leaders to deliver financial insights that enhance performance and achieve business objectives. This is a fully on-site role at our Big Sur property. The ideal candidate will bring a strong hospitality finance background, proven leadership capabilities, and a passion for sustainability, luxury, and service excellence. Key Responsibilities Financial Oversight and Compliance Manage and oversee accounting operations, including G/L reconciliations, journal entries, month-end reporting, and financial analysis

Prepare, review, and present preliminary financial statements with the Director of Finance

Ensure compliance with Hyatt standards, GAAP, SOX, and internal audit requirements

Oversee the audit process, reviewing and approving reconciliations, preparing audit work papers, and coordinating responses to auditor requests

Budgeting, Forecasting and Analysis Assist in preparing and monitoring annual budgets, forecasts, and rolling projections

Partner with department heads to strengthen financial literacy, track performance, and identify revenue opportunities and cost efficiencies

Lead variance analysis and proactively recommend corrective actions to optimize results

Leadership and Team Development Supervise and mentor the Finance team, as well as oversee Information Technology and Procurement functions

Interview, hire, train, and evaluate colleagues, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and alignment with Hyatt service standards

Provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities, building a resilient and high-performing team

Operational Finance and Strategic Partnership Support resort financial planning, cash management, capital expenditure tracking, and full P&L responsibility

Serve as a business partner to operational leaders, delivering insights and analysis to guide decision-making

Drive process improvements and leverage technology to increase efficiency and accuracy in reporting

Contribute to long-term financial strategies that support the resort’s sustainability mission and guest experience goals

Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $85,000–$110,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications Hyatt Benefits Include: Annual allotment of free and discounted stays at Hyatt hotels worldwide
