Job Description
The Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for managing geotechnical reports from inception through completion, including the proposal and reporting phases. Candidates should be well-versed in GDOT processes, formats, specifications, and guidelines, and possess familiarity with GDOT WFI, BFI, PDA, and the operation of related software such as GRLWEAP, Slide, and MSEWall.
Responsibilities
Responsible for overall management of geotechnical engineering servicesand ownership of project tasks, including P & L responsibility
Direct and executefield exploration and laboratory services including classification of soils
Execute geotechnical project assignments including, engineering analysis and customized geotechnical reports with detailed descriptions and statements
Site Reconnaissance to assess site conditions and identify potential problems at the site through coordinated field visits
Ability to identify problematic soils such as fill material, alluvium, organics and ability to call for additional investigation such as test pits and borings, as needed
Understanding of rock, rock coring, and rock description
Provide Sr review of proposals and reports and ensure that commitments to clients are met
Client relations and business development activities
Responsible for the mentoring and training ofstafftechnicians and engineers
Essential Skills
1+ years experience performing geotechnical analysis and soil boring investigations
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Geology
EIT preferred, or currently pursuing
Proficient with classifying soil samples per ASTM Classification
Experience in preparing geotechnical engineering reports and soil boring logs
Experience in preparing scope and fee proposals for soil boring investigations
Experience in marking soil borings in the field
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
