Position Overview
As a Construction Intern (Assistant Project Engineer) at C.W. Driver, you'll gain practical experience in construction management through a blend of office and field assignments. This internship offers valuable exposure to project coordination, documentation, and construction site operations in the Greater Los Angeles Region.
What You'll Do
- Assist with RFIs, submittals, and tracking project documentation
- Support preparation of meeting agendas, reports, and logs
- Participate in jobsite walks, punch lists, and field condition documentation
- Help with project close-out tasks including O&M manuals and As-Built drawings
- Contribute to schedule updates and distribution of project communications
What We're Looking For
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related degree program
- Basic understanding of construction processes and documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Bluebeam or scheduling software is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Navigate construction sites, including climbing stairs/ladders and walking on uneven surfaces
- Visual ability for reading plans and performing inspections
- Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed
- Primarily located at active construction job sites
- Exposure to outdoor elements, construction noise, and mechanical equipment
- Compliance with all safety protocols and PPE usage is mandatory
