Wespath, recognized as a 2017-2025 Chicago's Best and Brightest Companies to Work For and a 2018-2025 National Best and Brightest Companies to Work For, has an opportunity for a Compliance Specialist that provides support and services to ensure Wespath-administered benefit plans and programs comply with IRS regulations, plan provisions, rules, and policies; and the rules of The United Methodist Church. The Compliance Specialist also supports the completion of the Enterprise Compliance Program. More specifically, as a Compliance Specialist you will have the following key responsibilities:

Complete tasks for small estates, guardianships, and powers of attorney.

Perform research and documentation for assigned Special Requests.

Complete ad hoc compliance projects as assigned.

Respond to and/or document inquiries related to plan or regulatory provisions and requirements received from internal and external customers under guidance of more experienced Compliance team members. Support the compliance team in organizational projects and initiatives to gain knowledge and experience.

Support the compliance team in completing the annual Enterprise Compliance Program and scheduled Compliance Assessments.

Perform and document walkthroughs of assigned less complex key compliance processes and controls.

Perform tests of assigned key compliance controls under direct supervision.

Review procedures for compliance with plan provisions, federal and state tax laws and other regulatory reporting and testing. Assist in claims/appeals/Special Request processing.

Final compensation will be set based on the hired applicant's qualifications (education, training, and/or experience related to this role), and as such, may fall outside the range shown. #LI-CW1 #LI-hybridMinimum Requirements/Qualifications:2 years' experience in employee benefit plan administration*Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
