Join Tri-Valley’s Nutrition Services team as a Per Diem Meals on Wheels Driver! In this flexible, as-needed role, you’ll do more than deliver nutritious meals, you’ll bring a friendly face, a wellness check, and peace of mind to homebound older adults and individuals with disabilities. Every delivery makes a difference by helping people remain independent and safe in the comfort of their own homes.

Basic Function:
Responsible for a home-delivered meal route and related duties at the Nutrition Center on a
per diem, as-needed basis (up to 15 hours per week). Responsibilities: 1. Count and pack food trays for home delivery. 2. Count and pack hot and cold food products into carriers. 3. Assist coordinator with wrapping bread, packaging desserts, etc. 4. Deliver meals to homebound participants and maintain records for routes. 5. Maintain paperwork and report any emergencies or changes in participant status to the Nutrition Center Coordinator or Meals on Wheels Coordinator. 6. Clean meal delivery equipment daily. 7. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 1. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and required insurance coverage. 2. Must have a motor vehicle. 3. Accurate record keeping skills. 4. Ability to work well with older adult participants. 5. Ability to learn delivery routes and capable of training other drivers. 6. Capable of handling emergency situations and able to maintain confidentiality. 7. Ability to climb/descend stairs and navigate potentially uneven terrain (walkways, driveways, etc.) 8. Ability to lift equipment up to 40 pounds.
