Overview
Insomniac is hiring a PR Specialist to join a growth-minded culture rooted in respect, creativity, and connection. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, independent thinker who develops creative yet pragmatic communications strategies to share Insomniac’s story and engage audiences across all media channels within the music industry and broader media landscape. The role requires strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, meticulous attention to detail, and storytelling ability. Preferred location: Calabasas, CA or Las Vegas, NV.
Responsibilities
Media Relations & Communications: Develop and execute strategies to support Insomniac’s communications goals; create and maintain relationships with media across music, entertainment, lifestyle, and general news outlets; support media outreach and press opportunities around live events, festivals, charitable programs, and company announcements; manage media inquiries, coordinate interviews, and prepare spokespersons with key messaging.
Content Development & Distribution: Draft press releases, media alerts, pitches, and other written materials; partner with social media and content teams to ensure consistent brand messaging across channels; contribute ideas to strengthen Insomniac’s visibility and thought leadership.
Media Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor media coverage and industry trends; track, measure, and report PR results with insights and recommendations for improvement.
Campaign & Project Management: Lead projects from concept to completion; collaborate with internal teams and external partners; train and onboard team members, clients, vendors, and partners as needed; handle additional projects as identified.
Philanthropy & Community Engagement: Support planning and execution of philanthropy initiatives, manage timelines and budgets, and ensure philanthropic messaging is integrated across marketing, PR, and on-site activations; contribute to storytelling about the company’s charitable impact.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in PR, media relations and/or journalism
Strategic thinker with a program management background and a track record of meaningful results
Ability to assess situations quickly, convert obstacles into opportunities, and meet deadlines under a full workload
Proven ability to create and edit various communications to company standards on deadline
Experience with integrated campaigns and modern communications
Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and remote teams worldwide
Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills
Bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, journalism, or business, or equivalent work experience
Work Environment
Dynamic, fast-paced environment with often immediate deadlines, open office concept, and varied event locations
Ability to manage time and workload, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary
