As a Medical Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of medical imaging procedures, including interventional, neuro, and endovascular procedures. You will work closely with other clinical departments, resolve issues, ensure digital imaging quality, and maintain department relationships with patients, referring physicians, and radiology services partners.
Responsibilities
Assist in invasive procedure performance and digital imaging while handling duties such as embolization, tumor embolization, chemotherapy embolization, tumor treatment with radioactive elements, Intracranial stenting, intravascular stenting, limb preservation. Endovascular repair of Aortic aneurysms. Support Interventionalists during procedures, diagnostic studies, and treatments. Operate and monitor equipment, hand instruments in proper order, assist with suctioning and positioning patients, and provide emotional support as necessary. Prepare and position patients, administer contrast media upon direction by physicians, provide immobilization devices and radiation protection to patients and personnel according to prescribed safety standards. Explain procedures and address patient questions. Report reactions, study results, and changes observed in patient condition to Registered Nurses. Document pertinent medical information where required. Maintain current knowledge on interventional supplies. Identify and define Neuro, Thoracic, Abdominal, and Peripheral Vasculature. Operate digital imaging equipment and input data into IDX, Imaging Suite, and Picture Archiving Communication System Imaging Management Systems. Obtain and reconstruct 3-dimension images and digital subtraction angiography. Perform quality control tests of equipment and notify leadership and maintenance personnel of irregularities. Monitor dose reporting of high levels of radiation due to length and complexity of procedures. Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly cleaned, sterilized, and in working order. Manage patient scheduling grease board for procedures and follow-up documentation. Participate in ordering interventional supplies and maintaining optimal stock levels. Responsible for Quality Improvement documentation. Imaging exams and procedure trays require access and handling of non-controlled medications. Typically works in a clinical environment. Accountable for fulfilling all job-specific obligations and adhering to organizational policies and procedures. Position Details
