Responsibilities
Patient Care Coordinators are responsible for assisting in the delivery of efficient and comprehensive tele-optometry exams utilizing state-of-the-art optical and telemedicine equipment. They are passionate about delivering outstanding patient care experiences and assisting the team in growing the number of exams delivered. Carry out job functions and responsibilities as assigned; support the application of club policies, procedures, and compliance; strive for flawless execution and accountability; act with honesty and integrity and lead with the member in mind to address concerns and escalate as appropriate. Ensure a safe and positive environment for members and staff; embrace inclusion and diversity through collaboration and respect; work as a team to achieve goals; move with speed and agility; innovate and adapt to move as fast as the world around us; maintain a friendly and positive attitude. Deliver service excellence through all points of contact; resolve and deescalate to address member concerns; maintain a safe and positive environment and experience for members; commit to GOLD Member Standards (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate); uphold Gold club standards and daily housekeeping such as signage, stock and planograms; ensure a clean, organized environment inside and outside the club. Understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for the department; see the connection between consistent execution and positive business impact. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
Adhere to all privacy and confidential/proprietary company policies and procedures (e.g., HIPAA) as required by law. Provide support to Members in making eyeglass adjustments and repairs. Enthusiastically greet patients inside BJ’s Optical and identify patient vision needs through open-ended questions. Promote eye exam availability to BJ’s members and families; foster strong partnerships with optical team members and optometrists. Assist in scheduling eye exam appointments, entering patient information and history into systems in accordance with provided HIPAA training. Obtain patient medical history, conduct eye health tests (retinal images, auto refractometry, keratometry, tonometry, lensometry) and other ancillary testing (ocular motility, pupillary testing, etc.). Facilitate interaction between patients, technicians, and doctors via live video conferencing and communicate doctor recommendations to opticians. Meet or exceed patient expectations; collaborate with optical team members to facilitate exam bookings and eyewear sales; match eyewear solutions to patient needs and transition patients from exam to product selection. Strive to achieve sales and metric goals by educating patients on product benefits and recommending solutions that improve their visual needs; engage with members during downtime in the Optical area; maintain cleanliness and displays in accordance with policy. Maintain all club policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned; ensure regular, predictable, full attendance as an essential function of the job. Qualifications
High school diploma, college degree, and/or experience in wholesale, retail, optical, or medical environments. Experience delivering outstanding customer service in a retail, restaurant, optical, or medical setting. Strong verbal communication skills and an engaging personality for a diverse patient base. Interest in growth of telemedicine and healthcare technology; motivation to help patients and exceed expectations to drive referrals. Passion for delivering outstanding patient care. Knowledge of optical products and business practices preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail; open shift availability for full-time positions; minimum age 18. Environmental Job Conditions
Most of the time is spent moving about on hard surfaces; occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping may be required. Frequently lifts up to 20 pounds; may require lifting and moving heavier objects with assistance (>20 pounds). Indoor environment with exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises; occasional exposure to cleaning agents. Compensation
In accordance with Pay Transparency requirements, compensation is estimated based on non-discriminatory factors including location, education, experience, and qualifications. Pay range for this position is $18.50-20.00. About BJ’s Wholesale Club
