School Compliance Manager Job Summary
The School Compliance Manager role is an integral part of the School Support and Service team and works with the school-based campus support team to run day-to-day functions of our school. The starting salary range for this role is $71,305-$77,504. This is a full-time, on-site role based at one of our school campuses, with an anticipated start date of July 2025. About KIPP DC

You’ll be assigned to one KIPP DC campus and support the school(s) with maintaining documentation and managing matters related to compliance with federal and state requirements at the campus and school level. You will also help sustain policies and systems that ensure KIPP DC's overall compliance and fidelity of student information. A successful School Compliance Manager balances information-system management with supporting families as a friendly face of KIPP DC. Location and Type of Work
This is an exempt position reporting to the Associate Director or Director of School Support and Service (S3). The role is fully onsite, and requires on-site work during regular hours to support in-person campus operations and student/family needs.
Responsibilities
School Level Compliance (30% of time) Partner with school teams to implement, monitor, and document KIPP DC's compliance at the school level across federal and state requirements, including audits, reviews, and annual reports. Support Student Support efforts including English Language Learner (ELL) and 504 student requirements, documentation, and compliance. Maintain accurate student records, requests, court orders, and guardian alerts. Manage compliance related to Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) programs. Monitor student attendance concerns and follow required steps for students with 20+ absences.
Student Enrollment Management (35% of time) Execute campus enrollment strategy and review documentation, including residency and compliance, working closely with families to meet deadlines and requirements. Monitor enrollment budgets and cadence of offers to reach targets. Ensure accurate collection of enrollment, re-enrollment, and exit documentation for all students on a campus. Lead family communications about required/missing documentation and coordinate with school teams. Collaborate with Associate Directors to monitor audits and action steps in Enrollment Audit and Child Count Application. Manage enrollment systems, processes, and internal communication to achieve fully enrolled schools.
School & Campus Support (20% of time) Coordinate with office managers and school leaders on campus enrollment and immunization efforts; provide office coverage if applicable. Ensure clarity on compliance processes and requirements for school teams on the assigned campus. Support re-enrollment efforts with the student recruitment team; serve as main on-site contact for families and attend events. Be an engaged member of KIPP DC staff, assist with student recruitment and enrichment activities, and support mission fulfillment.
Health Compliance & Coordination (15% of time) Set a campus-wide strategy to maintain updated health and immunization records for all enrolled students, including data input into DOCIIS. Coordinate health efforts with nursing staff (HPEA coordination, screenings, immunization events). Ensure compliance with monthly health regulations including medication usage and tracking; assist with administration of medication adherence and training.
Requirements & Preferences
Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required 4 years of experience in a related field 2 years of experience in an education environment Self-starter with customer service experience and relationship management skills Unquestioned integrity and commitment to KIPP DC's mission and anti-racist work Flexibility, tenacity, ability to produce high-quality work, resourcefulness, and teamwork Preferred Qualifications Ability to quickly learn and utilize new technologies, including PowerSchool and other student information systems Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced school environment with tight deadlines Results-oriented team player dedicated to getting the job done Strong judgment and decision-making skills Passion for education reform and belief that every child can succeed Mastery of Google Suite
