Attorney (Legal Research), Recruitment Number 25-175TO , SR-28 Step D to L, $7,351 to $10,061 per month*, Honolulu, Oahu. The anticipated start date for this position is January 2, 2026. *The starting salary may be at a rate between the minimum to maximum salary range listed above, based on qualifications. The position is located in the Courts of Appeal, Intermediate Court of Appeal. This position is responsible for: screening appeals upon completion of briefing; preparing legal memoranda, with special attention to jurisdictional and procedural issues; processing motions or petitions and recommending their disposition; processing cases or classes of cases and recommending their disposition; and doing other project related to the Intermediate Court of Appeal's work. Attorney (Program) II, Recruitment Number 25-217TO , SR-26 Step D to L, $6,535 to $8,945 per month*, Honolulu, Oahu. The starting salary may be at a rate between the minimum to maximum salary range listed above, based on qualifications. The Rule 40 Staff Attorney is assigned to the Criminal Administrative Judge of the First Circuit Court who oversees criminal cases in the First Circuit. The Staff Attorney focuses on Rule 40 of the Hawaii Rules of Penal Procedures and conducts in-depth legal research, analyzing complex legal issues, and drafting comprehensive legal memoranda and proposed rulings to the Criminal Administrative Judge, the multiple criminal divisions of the First Circuit, the criminal assignments branch of the First Circuit, and related criminal division issues within the First Circuit Administration; and perform other duties as required.
