Senior Manager, Product Management – Data Governance

– You will lead a dynamic team of product managers in driving the strategy, roadmap, and execution for our Data Governance domain. This role focuses on Privacy, Consent Management, and Global Data Compliance, sitting at the intersection of data platform engineering, legal/privacy compliance, and user trust. You will help build scalable, secure, and compliant data capabilities. This leadership position is focused on governance solutions, ensuring compliance, and delivering value to customers. It requires deep product sense, technical expertise, and strong cross-functional collaboration. You’ll drive the development of products and platform services that enable our enterprise to meet evolving privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, COPPA) while delivering seamless experiences for customers. Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, autonomy, transparency, and continuous learning. Inspire and motivate the team to achieve their best, cultivating an inclusive environment that encourages creativity and continuous improvement. Implement effective performance management practices, including goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews; recognize high performance and address areas for improvement. Develop and communicate a clear strategic vision for the Data Governance domain, aligning initiatives with business goals and ensuring team buy-in. Define and lead the strategic roadmap for Data Governance with emphasis on privacy, consent, and regulatory compliance. Build and maintain relationships with engineering, legal, compliance, and user trust teams to enable collaboration and common goals. Drive cross-functional data governance initiatives and establish a center of excellence for data privacy compliance, governance, quality, and upcoming regulations. Translate complex global privacy regulations into scalable platform capabilities (e.g., consent capture, DSAR workflows, privacy preference centers). Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for data governance features—from ideation through launch and ongoing adoption. Ensure solutions meet internal operational needs and external customer-facing requirements, with emphasis on reliability, scalability, and performance. Build platform services and third-party integration capabilities that support global privacy operations at scale. Champion a privacy-first architecture across data collection, ingestion, classification, usage, and retention workflows. Define and track KPIs to measure success and impact of privacy and governance products (e.g., consent opt-in rates, DSAR resolution time, audit readiness). Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors to enable scalable privacy and compliance tooling. Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field; or requisite work experience 10+ years of relevant experience in an enterprise software development environment, with a minimum 6 years as a product manager Expertise with Privacy Rights Management, Data Management, Big Data & Analytics, Data Warehouse, Data Quality, Data Governance or related field Experience with regulatory and legal implications for integrated data platforms (e.g., CCPA, GDPR, COPPA, VPPA) across complex data architectures Proven ability to develop product strategies and communicate recommendations to executive management Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams and influencing conversations to drive positive outcomes Adept at driving clarity for both technical and non-technical audiences Strong communication and negotiation skills to align stakeholders Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to balance priorities Strong bias for action and a results-oriented mindset Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree in a related field or relevant certifications Hands-on experience configuring or integrating with privacy management tools (e.g., OneTrust, TrustArc) Knowledge of data security approaches and requirements #DISNEYTECH #CDI Compensation and Perks

The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $193,000 to $258,900 per year and in Santa Monica, CA is $184,300 to $247,100 per year. The base pay offered will reflect internal equity and may vary by geographic region, knowledge, skills, and experience.
