Job Description
The Warehouse Forklift Operator plays a vital role in ensuring the correct handling of ingredients, packaging, and finished goods, contributing to the overall success of our operations. Working within the warehouse, this position supports the processes for inbound, outbound, storage, and selection of production work orders, ensuring high product quality and food safety. This role also focuses on creating a safer and more efficient warehouse with precise inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices, complete receiving logs, and store products in designated areas.
- Ensure proper storage of products, secure storage areas, wrap finished goods, and update the PO Follow-up upon receipt.
- Allocate raw materials or packaging according to production requests, accurately load transfers, and complete system documentation.
- Communicate with management regarding warehouse concerns and team member issues.
- Understand and communicate written policies, quality, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Comply with HACCP-plan and food safety requirements.
- Label and store ingredients, packaging, and finished pallets at appropriate temperatures and storage locations.
- Fulfill production ingredient orders and ensure timely and complete delivery.
- Accurately enter data into PO Update and inventory tracking systems daily.
- Complete transfers to cold storage locations accurately and timely before dispatch.
- Load customer pickups accurately and on time before dispatch.
- Complete forklift training at hire and every three years for continued certification.
- Maintain regular and consistent punctual attendance.
- Suggest ideas to build team morale and recognize others.
- Notify management of potential food safety or quality issues.
- Prioritize occupational safety in the warehouse and report any unsafe equipment or behavior.
- Commit to following and adhering to GMP and Food Safety practices to comply with SQF and regulatory standards.
Essential Skills
- Experience in utilizing forklift and pallet jack powered equipment (1-3 years).
- Experience in perishable warehouse operations or a related area (1-3 years).
- Attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand written and verbal policies and guidelines, specifications, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Ability to communicate issues to management, whether work-related or personal.
- Ability to follow strict safety, food security, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Desirable high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Computer skills desirable but not required.
- Forklift Certification, pallet jack certification, and driver's license.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
