Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of acute inpatient or rehab experience for a Level 3 trauma acute care setting; BLS and active state licensure required.
Responsibilities Work in an acute inpatient and rehabilitation setting on the hospital's physical therapy floor Manage a daily caseload of 10-12 patients alongside a team of 6-7 PTs per day Patient population includes orthopedic (total joints), neurological (stroke, occasional brain injury), general medical, and ICU cases May cover ICU depending on experience and department need Uses Epic EMR system; Epic experience preferred Schedule consists of four 10-hour day shifts (0730-1800), with rotating weekend coverage approximately every fourth weekend No self-scheduling or blocked scheduling available Holiday shifts required as needed Collaborate with a team including PTs, PTAs, and rehab aides, with manager support on each shift 2-3 days of orientation in the department, with onboarding likely scheduled Monday through Friday (5 8-hour days) Scrub color must not match other departments; a list of permissible colors provided upon hire Responsibilities include treating a variety of orthopedic, neuro, medical, and ICU patients requiring physical therapy Must be willing to work holidays and rotating weekends as assigned First-time travelers are welcome to apply Permanent employees must be away for one year before being eligible for a travel assignment at this facility
Requirements Current and active state PT license required at time of consideration (license required if applicable) Minimum 1 year of licensed PT experience in acute inpatient or rehab setting BLS certification required Experience with Epic EMR preferred Must provide two professional references: one supervisor within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years Copy of driver’s license required No local candidates; must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
