Responsibilities

Job Summary
Performs tasks involving phlebotomy, customer service, clerical duties, and data entry.
Essential Functions

• Organizes and prioritizes blood draw requests, including trauma, stat, morning, and routine draws.
• Operates the hospital tube system for specimen receipt, distribution, labeling, and reporting.
• Receives outpatient specimens, verifies specimen types, and confirms patient information.
• Uses the Hospital Information System to manage test requests, patient registration, and report printing.
• Greet visitors, patients, and staff at the reception area.
• Operates communication equipment, responds to inquiries, and maintains work areas and supplies.
• Handles mail, trains new employees, and assists in daily work coordination.
• Interfaces with nursing staff and resolves customer service issues.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

• Six months of experience preferred for the Network Float Pool.
