Compensation Range: $82,147 - $117,525

About the role

The Facilities & Package Maintenance Supervisor is involved with the successful daily maintenance of the oil refining and packaging facility. The function of this position is to preserve assets so that they can safely and economically continue to provide benefit to the organization. The maintenance supervisor’s duty is to work efficiently to reduce and eliminate the need for maintenance. The maintenance supervisor will work continuously to improve maintenance service and assist in the continuous improvement of all processes within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Safety & Environmental Performance
    • Lead the safety effort by personal example.
    • Support full plant wide compliance with safety rules to further our goal of 0 accidents and encouragement of reporting and correcting near misses.
    • Support 0 contractor accidents during major construction or anytime maintenance contractors are on site.
    • Identify high-risk safety/productivity issues and help remedy them.
    • Adhere to SOPs and other work procedures as required to assure product quality and consistency to our customers.
  • Work Requirements
    • Participate in projects development and project meetings.
    • Substitute for the Maintenance Manager in his absence at meetings regarding processing and control issues.
    • Specify new technologies and run trials to prove effectiveness.
    • Assist in the planning and direction of strategic improvements to keep plant process controls up to date using current best practice and latest technologies.
    • Work closely with vendors to specify, select and supervise inventory levels and organization.
    • Responsible for the scheduling of maintenance personnel and for the assigning of maintenance work.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, wiring and field devices; program PLC logic for process changes and improvements.
    • Install, maintain and troubleshoot single and three phase industrial motors, VFDs, electrical distribution and protection circuits up to 480VAC.
    • Install, maintain and troubleshoot packaging equipment, conveyor systems, steam and condensate systems, pumps and piping systems, refrigeration systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, ladder logic and electrical schematics.
    • Maintain facilities (lighting, windows, doors, roofs, etc.).
    • Execute work safely and expediently according to priorities: emergency maintenance, capital/maintenance projects, preventative/predictive maintenance, routine corrective maintenance.
    • Provide practical solutions to operations/controls problems.
    • Scope, estimate and execute small capital/maintenance projects with the maintenance manager/project director/operations.
    • Provide training to other employees based on company needs.
    • Oversee work by contractors on site to assure safety, quality, efficiency and performance.
    • Seek opportunities to complete work safer, faster and more cost effectively.
    • Participate in company activities such as Safety Committee, Audit committees, employee task forces, etc.
    • Heavy lifting with vigorous physical activity in a hot and slippery environment; on-call 24 hrs as necessary.
  • Cost Control
    • Contribute to controlling costs and minimizing downtime, scrap, poor quality, accidents, utility usage and reduced productivity in daily work.
    • Use predictive maintenance techniques to plan and budget major repairs.
    • Minimize carrying costs by analyzing need and quantity of spare parts.

About you

  • Minimum of 5 years industrial maintenance experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certification in welding (Preferred)
  • Certification in electrical with emphasis on industrial (Preferred)
  • General knowledge of automation, PLCs, ladder logic, etc… (Preferred)
  • General knowledge of packaging equipment (Preferred)
  • General knowledge of conveyor systems (Preferred)
  • General knowledge of heating and air-conditioning
  • Certification in refrigeration, both freon and ammonia (Preferred)
  • General knowledge of plumbing and pipefitting (Preferred)
