Shift/Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:45 PM; Saturday rotations required

Job Summary

As a Patient Services Representative I (PSR I), you’ll be the first point of contact for patients seeking lab services. This role involves collecting blood specimens, preparing them for testing, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and informed throughout the process. The PSR I must demonstrate professionalism, accuracy, and patient care in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform specimen collection (venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, geriatric).
  • Maintain safe, compliant, and professional work areas.
  • Accurately verify and document patient information.
  • Process, label, and prepare specimens for lab transport.
  • Support multiple locations when staffing needs require.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, staff, and providers.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and compliance standards.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy or clinical lab experience (required).
  • 1+ years of phlebotomy experience (preferred).
  • Prior experience in a patient service center or healthcare environment (preferred).
  • Customer service or retail experience strongly valued.

Required Skills

  • Phlebotomy skills (pediatric and geriatric preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling.
  • Ability to work independently in high-volume environments.
  • Data entry and computer literacy skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Flexible for weekend, holiday, or on-call coverage.
  • Ability to travel between patient service centers when needed.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).
  • Phlebotomy certification required in California.
