Position Overview Securify is seeking an experienced and solutions-oriented Low Voltage Foreman to join our Installation Department. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with a strong background in low-voltage systems and fostering positive team and client relations. As a Low Voltage Foreman, you will oversee the execution of high-quality installations, ensuring compliance with project goals, safety standards, team cohesion, and client satisfaction through exceptional service and communication.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relations & Communication
Conduct site assessments and collaborate with clients to determine project requirements and specifications.
Maintain positive client relationships by providing regular updates, addressing concerns promptly, and delivering tailored solutions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during installations to ensure satisfaction and build trust.
Project Oversight & Coordination
Manage projects to ensure technical quality, cost efficiency, and profitability objectives are met.
Coordinate with project managers to plan and schedule installations, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
Maintain accurate documentation of project progress, including materials used, labor hours, and any deviations from the original plan.
System Installation & Troubleshooting
Install low-voltage systems, including structured cabling, security cameras, access controls, alarm systems, intercoms, and sensors.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to system functionality or wiring to ensure successful project completion.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
Foster a positive, healthy team dynamic by modeling professionalism, promoting open communication, and encouraging mutual respect among all team members.
Provide direct coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback to team members to support their technical and professional growth.
Demonstrate excellent conflict resolution skills by proactively addressing and diffusing potential tensions or disputes among team members, with clients, and with third-party vendors or contractors. Facilitate productive discussions to ensure collaboration and maintain strong working relationships.
Identify training needs and facilitate ongoing technical development for staff to ensure continuous improvement in skills, safety, and industry best practices.
Address performance issues promptly with clarity and empathy, delivering timely correction or support to help team members meet job expectations.
Review and approve team member timesheets and PTO requests accurately and promptly, ensuring proper staffing levels and efficient project execution.
Conduct annual performance reviews for all direct reports, setting clear goals and development plans to enhance team engagement and retention.
Lead regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce awareness of and compliance with job site safety requirements.
Ensure strict adherence to industry-standard safety protocols and lead by example to create a safety-first culture.
Enforce company policies and report any violations or workplace incidents in a timely manner.
Support a workplace culture of , equity, and in all team interactions.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure all installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Monitor job specs and costs using tracking tools like ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud).
Requirements & Preferences
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
Minimum of 6–7 years of experience in the installation and wiring of low-voltage systems.
Expertise in pulling cables, installing, programming, and troubleshooting low-voltage systems such as access controls, security cameras, alarm systems, intercoms, and sensors.
Strong understanding of security cabling standards, blueprints, schematics, Scope of Work (SOW), Bill of Materials (BOM), and best practices for structured cabling installations.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and project managers.
Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards related to low-voltage installations.
Proficiency in using project tracking tools like Bluebeam or similar software.
Certifications
BICSI Installer Level 2 Certification or equivalent.
Relevant low-voltage technician licenses or certifications in alarm/security systems.
Physical Requirements
Frequently required to stand, walk, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods, often in tight or elevated spaces.
Must be able to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75lbs.
Use of hands and fingers to handle tools, wiring, and small parts with precision.
Ability to work on rooftops, scaffolding, or at heights using lifts and ladders in various weather conditions.
Visual acuity to read blueprints, monitor system components, recognize codes on wiring, and perform detailed installations.
Must have adequate hearing to distinguish audible signals and communicate effectively in job site environments.
Capable of safely operating power and hand tools, and working near electrical currents and active construction sites.
Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and high-visibility apparel.
Ability to work full shifts on your feet, sometimes during evenings, weekends, or overtime as project needs dictate.
Reliable transportation to various job sites within the service area.
