Overview

Job Title: Entry Level Engineer

Job Description: This role involves performing various activities related to environmental consulting. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, motivated, eager to learn, embrace teamwork, and have a desire to develop professionally. The primary focus will be on civil/environmental services, landfills, landfill infrastructure, composting, and other projects that may require design, engineering, permitting, construction, and operations support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
• Follow directions from the Project Manager that meet both client and company expectations.
• Apply knowledge to solve engineering or scientific problems and methods, review plans, and assist in coordinating work under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Conduct fieldwork in varied terrain and weather, including surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, and more.
• Perform office-based tasks such as CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, and permit applications.
• Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
• Travel (20% expected), typically local, occasionally overnight.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related engineering major.
• Progress toward a Professional Engineering license (e.g., E.I.T certification) preferred.
• Competency in using MS Office and other computer software commonly used in environmental consulting.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D design software is ideal.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in geology, environmental engineering, data collection, report writing, and field inspection.
• Knowledge of groundwater, HAZWOPER, and construction quality assurance.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a combination of in-office, at-home, and field settings. The role may require working under varied weather conditions and terrains.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.25/hr.
