Job Position: Punch and Laser Operator

Location: Brighton, CO 80601

Pay Rate: $25.00/hr

Shift: 1st Shift

Description: Metal Punch and Laser Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the punch machine to fabricate and produce metal parts according to customer specifications and production schedules. This role requires technical expertise in machine setup, programming, tool selection, and operation while ensuring quality and safety standards are met in a sheet metal manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Operate turret punch machines to cut, punch, and form sheet metal parts according to specifications and production schedules.
2. Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot machines for optimal performance, including selecting and installing appropriate tooling and dies.
3. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine specifications and tolerances.
4. Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency throughout the production process.
5. Conduct regular inspections of parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
6. Maintain accurate production records, including material usage and machine downtime.
7. Perform routine maintenance on punch and related equipment to ensure optimal operation and prevent breakdowns.
8. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and address any production challenges.
9. Assist in training new operators as needed
10. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing preferred.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience operating laser and punch machine in a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
4. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift materials up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
